A clearer way to work: meet the new member homepage

Social Value Portal members have told us the same thing for a while: The Social Value TOM System is the standard you trust, and you wanted the day-to-day experience of using the platform to match it.

Our Summer Release introduces a clearer way to work in the Social Value Portal platform.

Quicker ways to find a project.

A faster read on what changed since you last logged in.

Reporting that helps you make sense of your data, not just store it.

We've heard what our members were asking for, and where they felt we were falling short. This is us putting your feedback into action and providing you with a clearer, contemporary way to work.

Social Value Portal members will see a new look and feel across key areas of the platform: a clearer way to find and organise your projects, and a new reporting view that shows you what's happening across every project.

Same TOM System. Same validated data. A noticeably clearer experience in the places you work the most.

This is the first release of a new member experience, and the first visible step in a bigger plan for where the platform is going. Here's what's changing.

A new look and feel

The first change is one you'll feel before you notice any single feature: the platform is quicker and more consistent to move around.

We've rebuilt the core member screens on newer technology, shifting from Visualforce to Lightning, which means pages load faster and the experience is consistent whether you're a client commissioning Social Value or a supplier delivering it.

The navigation has been simplified so the things you do most often are the things that are within easy reach. A new Global navigation bar helps you keep track of your projects and get the support you need, with local navigation along the top of the screen that adjusts based on your user role.

Find the right project, faster

Two new features in the platform make it easier and faster to find your projects. From high value tenders, contracts in delivery or corporate social value measurement projects in the UK or abroad.

Social Value Portal members are often working across multiple projects, and they told us it was too tricky to dive straight into the platform to take action.

Project cards

Your projects now appear as clear, scannable cards rather than a dense list, and they're ordered by what's most likely to need your attention, such as live tenders or projects in their current reporting period.

If you're managing multiple procurements, suppliers, contracts in delivery, or measuring social value across your global portfolio - project cards give you the snapshot details you need.

Project cards let you take immediate action: stay on top of important deadlines, edit projects with a single click and download the reports you need without digging into the Reporting Dashboard, taking the headache out of meeting prep and stakeholder updates.

Smart Filters and Keyword Search

You can now filter and search your project list in ways that match how you actually work, rather than scrolling through everything to find one project. Smart filters are aware of your role, so you see the cuts that are relevant to you.

Combine multiple filters or use Keyword Search to pull up your most popular projects with ease.

Starred Projects

Mark the projects you care about most with a single tap and jump straight to them from a dedicated Starred view. No more hunting for your priorities every time you log in.

Every user gets their own version, so distributed teams working on-site can hop in to data entry easily from their starred projects view.

See what's changed, without digging

The new Activity Feed in the Reporting Dashboard surfaces live updates on your active projects. It brings recent delivery activity into one place, so updates to data, progress against targets and tender activity are visible at a glance.

The point is simple: the reporting view should help you understand your Social Value, not just store it.

For procuring authorities juggling high-value and significant contracts, we wanted to simplify the process of keeping on top of supplier activity in the platform. So proactive contract management is now even easier with a live feed of performance, whilst detailed drop downs against every update show you what's changed.

For large organisations measuring their delivery and corporate Social Value, the Activity feed lets you stay on top of what's changing, acting as a live feed of your data and updates.

Stay organised, reduce clutter and never lose your data.

The Summer Release also introduces two new tools to help you stay on top of your projects, keep things in order and reduce visual noise on the homepage.

Project Archive

Archive completed or unsuccessful projects out of your main view and into a dedicated Archive, so your active list stays focused on what's live. Nothing is deleted, and you can restore anything whenever you need it.

Project Collections

Group related projects into your own collections, straight from the project card, and find them again on a dedicated Collections page. However you think about your work, by client, by region, by programme, you can now organise the platform to match.

This is a starting point

Our Summer Release is the first step towards a new product vision and user experience.

It improves the parts of the platform members use most, and it’s shaped directly by what members told us in research.

Our vision is a platform that threads accountability through every stage of the Social Value journey, from understanding local needs in-depth, honouring the commitments made, and the validated data that proves it was delivered.

This release is where that work starts to show up in the product you use every day, with more coming through the rest of the year.

For now, log in and have a look. We'd genuinely like to know what you think.
