When West Midlands Police began working with Social Value Portal, Social Value sat outside the contract rather than inside it. Over the last few years, that's changed: more than 70 suppliers have committed to over £12 million of Social Value, with the provision reviewed and refined five years into delivery.

One contract alone generates roughly £21,000 a year for local initiatives. In the last year, that funding helped 298 veterans and provided over 360 therapy sessions - sessions described in the film as life -saving, paid for through a policing contract most people would never associate with veteran welfare.
