We got a chance to interview Angela Halliday, Sodexo UK&I's Social Impact Director, about Social Value in 2025, how to get started making a difference, and more.
I'm Angela Halliday, Director of Social Impact for Sodexo across the UK and Ireland, and as of this week, the Co-Chair of the National Social Value Taskforce.
I've been a member for many years and had the pleasure of working with cross-sector organisations. In this new role, I'm really keen to create change.
I think we're at an important juncture and given the theme of the Social Value Conference 2025 - Mission Critical - I want to take that into the Taskforce and really translate talk into action.
For me, this is the most exciting period we've had for a long time, and I'm so glad to be joining at this time.
The vibe, the energy and the passion in the room is absolutely palpable.
There's been a shift change from last year, when we talked about "Social Value in action" and working through what those actions are. This year, we're hearing the actions that folks have taken.
So now we're at the point of mission-critical. The themes that have arisen throughout the Conference are absolutely resonant with what's happening from an external perspective.
People understand it, people get it - but most importantly, people are getting behind it, which is super exciting.
Lean into radical collaboration. There are so many connections being made - turn those connections into action.
Even if you are at the very beginning of your journey, there is always someone further along the maturity curve who is ready to help.
The more businesses that get behind this movement, the more we can do for social and environmental good across the UK and beyond.
